In a bid to take the good tidings of the gospel to every nook and cranny of the world, the Christ Compassion to the Rural World (CCRW) is set to hold a mega crusade in the city of Ibadan. The crusade will feature the distribution of relief materials to people, including 150, 000 bags of rice, 150, 000 bags of beans and 150,000 bags of garri; 20,000 packs of vegetable oil, 40,000 soaps and many more.
At the crusade, there will be free medical check-ups and surgeries for the  less privileged.
The crusade, in conjunction with all the churches in Ibadan, will be held on November 25 to 30, 2024, at the Obafemi Awolowo Stadium, Liberty Road, Ibadan.
According to the President and convener of CCRW , Pastor Matthew Ashimolowo, the crusade has many features, which include evening crusades, medical check-ups, free surgeries and the ministers’ conference.
Ashimolowo disclosed this at a special ministers’ meeting, which was held at the Men of Issachar Vision Ministry, Olororo, Ibadan.
The pastor, who emphasised on the need for all churches to be united, noted that the success of the crusade is dependent on the coming together of all churches so that the unsaved can be reached and lives can be touched.
He stressed that the crusade would be a powerful one and that it would be a crusade of miracles, healing, and salvation.
He said: “This crusade we have come to hold in Ibadan, we need the churches to come together so that we can reach the unsaved and touch lives. Ibadan has 4,040,000 people, and yet it is not up to 40 per cent that go to church. We need to get souls saved.
“We want everybody who is at the grassroots to come to Christ Compassion to the Rural World crusade. It is going to be a crusade of miracles, healings, and salvation in the night sessions. Daytime, we’re going to distribute about 150,000 packs of rice, 150,000 packs of garri, 150,000 packs of beans. We’re going to distribute 20,000 bottles of vegetable oil and 40,000 soap. We’re going to distribute so much.
“We’re going to have medical services for two full days from morning till night, from Friday to Saturday. The crusade is going to be touching people’s health.
“People, sometimes, just fall and die, and the cause of death seems unknown whereas, some people have serious high blood pressure, they don’t know. Even when they tell them they have, they don’t have the medicine. Christ Compassion to the Rural World is bringing medicine worth about 400 million naira. So, to the man at the grassroots, you need to give your life to Christ.
“We’re doing it not because we have money to waste; we’re doing it for the love of Christ. We are persuaded to touch lives. We want to show the compassion of Christ. We are His hands. We are His voice. We want people to see Jesus’’.
Pastor Ashimolowo urged Christians to get involved in politics and clean up the dirtiness therein. He added that Nigeria’s major problem is not the problem of leadership but the problem of system failure.
In his remarks, Rev. Samson Ajetomobi, said bringing the crusade to the state should be, ” an opportunity for us to receive all that God has for the people of Oyo State”.
