A social entrepreneurship organization, Tova Credit Limited, has launched programmes to alleviate poverty and empower women and the youths in Ibadan
Speaking with journalists in Ibadan during a press conference for the launch of the project, the Chief Executive Officer, Tova Credit, Tosin Bakare, said the company would give out loans to the indigent Nigerians at the rate of five per cent to break the shackle of poverty in Africa starting from Ibadan.
They said organization is set to build prosperity for Africans through training, and empowerment.
Bakare said: ‘’We are set to break the bondage of poverty in Africa by giving loans to the indigent women and youths through TOVA Credit Limited. We are starting in our own base.
‘’Tova Credit Limited is an Afrocentric financial institution designed to empower the downtrodden especially indigent women and youths with entrepreneurial/vocational skills by meeting their micro-credit needs and providing them with innovative training and strategic investment opportunities to enable them thrive and prosper
‘’TOVA Group is a community of investors and a micro-credit organization  that is giving loan at five per cent interest rate. It is a social investment. We want to create a culture of saving. We want to break the yoke of poverty among indigent people and women. We don’t give loan without training. They will be trained on business plan and strategic communication’’.
Assuring that the company would treat its customers as real human beings, Bakare said the maximum amount that could be borrowed for now is N200,000, stating that this would increase when there are many customers.
On her part, Olaniyan said th e project is for the youths and women of Africa who are the future of the continent.
