The newly appointed Acting Rector of The Polytechnic, Ibadan, Dr. Taiwo Abideen Lasisi has arrived at the institution to the warm embrace of the staff and students of the Institution.
Lasisi, who was accompanied by an array of well-wishers immediately addressed the staff and students, assured them that the fortune of the Institution will soar during his term as Acting Rector.
Appreciating the State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde for giving him the opportunity to serve, the acting rector  promised to key into the road map of development embarked upon by the State Government by introducing enduring development into academic and infrastructure of the institution.
Dr. Lasisi noted that he spent a better part of his academic career at The Polytechnic, Ibadanwhere he rose to the highest academic position as a Chief lecturer and served as Dean of Student Affairs and later Director of Academic Planning and Control Unit before crossing to Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomosho, said his appointment was more of a
homecoming.
The Deputy Rector of the Institution, Mrs Olaide Salawu led the Deans of Faculties and other Senior Officers, Staff, and Students to receive the Acting Rector.
Both Mrs. Salawu, who is the Deputy Rector, and Dr. Bolanle Oseni who is the Chairman Committee of Deans and Staff who spoke at the brief welcome reception assured the Acting Rector of their maximum cooperation and support.
The appointment of the Acting Rector was made on Saturday 23rd March 2024 in a press
statement signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the State Government, Pastor Sulaiman Olanrewaju.
Dr. Taiwo Lasisi succeeded Professor Kazeem Adekunle Adebiyi whose five-year tenure lapsed on Monday 25th March 2024.
