… World Bank Consultant, Olubadan, ex-minister bag honorary doctorate degree

The Vice Chancellor of Lead City University (LCU), Ibadan, Prof. Kabiru Aderemi Adeyemo, on Tuesday, urged the graduates of the school to embrace innovation, entrepreneurship, and adaptability in order to navigate the complexities of the world and succeed.
Adeyemo made the call while speaking on the second day of the 16th convocation ceremonies of the university at the Adeline Hall of the institution.
The VC said: “I implore you to carry the values instilled in you by Lead City University – integrity, excellence, and a commitment to community – into every endeavour. Your education is not just for personal gain but should be a force for positive change in the world around you.
“As you navigate the complexities of the professional world, uphold integrity, value collaboration, and remain adaptable. Embrace the spirit of innovation and entrepreneurship, for these qualities will set you apart”.
The vice chancellor alao disclosed that 1,881 students were graduating, with 1,328 of them receiving their first-degree awards, while 553 graduands will be conferred with higher degree.
A grand total of 160 graduates made first-class honour out of 1,328 graduates.
According to the VC, the convocation lecture on Wednesday will be delivered by the Chairman of the Federal Civil Service Commission, Prof. Tunji Olaopa with the title: ‘ The Renewed Hope Agenda and the Imperative of Repositioning Nigerian Universities’.
He added: “We shall confer Honorary Doctorate degrees on three eminently qualified Nigerians for the roles they have played in nation-building. They are Oba (Dr.) Moshood Lekan Balogun, Alli Okunmade II, the Olubadan of Ibadan Land,
Former Deputy Governor of Osun State and former Minister of State for Defence, Erelu Olusola Idowu Obada, and
Sir Obafemi Oye, consultant on World Bank-assisted Agro-Climatic Resilience. “
In his remarks, the Chancellor of the university Prof. Gabriel Ogunmola urged all stakeholders to come together in order to rescue the country.
