Mr. Inaolaji Akinloye of the Accounts and Bursary Department has emerged as the Public Relations Officer of the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH) Alumni Association, Oyo State Chapter.
Akinloye became an executive member at the election held on Saturday, July 13, 2024 at the Senior Service Club, Total Garden, Ibadan.
The new PRO possesses many professional and academic qualifications, including HND in Marketing ,B.sc in Accounting, Masters degree in Financial Management; Member of the Nigerian Institute of Management; Associate of Member Nigeria Institute of Marketing; Certified Internal Auditor, {CIA}; Diploma in Procurement Management and others.
The event was presided over by the Vice President (South), Hon. Ojo Olayemi Abolade, who also serves as the Chairman of the Unification Committee of the Oyo State Chapter. Abolade represented the Global President, Hon. Olalekan Badmus.
Aside from Akinloye, other elected executive members were Mr. Abiodun Adelekan {Chairman}, Mr. Adetunji Adekunle – Vice {Chairman}, Mr. Tobi Akintunde {General Secretary},Miss Adedoyin Adelodun {Assistant General Secretary},Mrs. Oluwabunmi John {Financial Secretary}, Mr. Alimi Akeem {Social Director 1}, Mrs. Fatimah Akinyoade {Social Director 2}, Mrs. Abosede Olagoke {Welfare Officer} and Mr. Moses Bolanle {Auditor}.
The process was overseen by the Chairperson of the Electoral Committee, Mrs. Funmi Alli Kayode, who called forth the names of the aspiring candidates. The offices of Vice Chairman, General Secretary, Assistant General Secretary, Financial Secretary, Public Relations Officer, Social Directors, Welfare Officer, and Auditor were all filled with unopposed candidates.
The race for the chairmanship position was initially sought by two contenders – Mr. Abiodun Adelekan and Mr. Mayowa Eyitayo. However, Eyitayo stepped down, paving the way for the emergence of Adelekan, also known as ‘Sirius’ as the new Chairman of the association.
On behalf of the congress, Mr. Ayomide Babalola, aka ‘Flow’, expressed gratitude to Mr. Mayowa Eyitayo for his selfless sacrifice, and also acknowledged the contributions of past leaders of the association. Mr. Bunmi Arise, representing the Electoral Committee, also thanked the members for their unwavering support and commitment.
The elected executives were sworn in by the Chairperson, Mrs. Funmi Alli Kayode, in the presence of the Global Executives, Vice President (South), Financial Secretary, and the Secretary of the Unification Committee.
In his acceptance speech, the newly elected Vice Chairman, on behalf of the Chairman, Mr. Abiodun Adelekan, assured the members that the new regime would work tirelessly for the growth, development, and success of the association and its members.
Meanwhile, the Rector of Federal Polytechnic, Ayede, Engr. Dr. Taofeek Adekunle Abdul-Hameed, has congratulated Akinloye on his emergence. This was contained in a message made available to Optimal Times News by Mr. Samson Oladejo of the Public Relations Department.
