The Oyo State Police Command, yesterday, paraded a former chairman of the Disciplinary Committee of the Park Management System [PMS] in the state, Mukaila Lamidi popularly called ‘Auxiliary’ for alleged murder, armed robbery, and kidnapping.
The police had declared ‘Auxiliary’ wanted months ago over his alleged involvement in serial cases.
It would be recalled that officers of the Department of State Services [DSS] arrested him around 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday at his residence in the Olodo area of Ibadan.
Parading him before journalists at the Command headquarters, Eleyele, Ibadan, the Commissioner of Police, Adebola Hamzat, said the suspect would be charged to court for the alleged offences.
Hamsat disclosed that a lot of life-taking weapons, ammunition and cash were recovered from him.
The commissioner reiterated the determination of the police to deal decisively with any criminally-motivated individual or group who intended to flip the state retrogressively into the historical dark days.
He said: “Exhibits recovered in his possession at his Diamond Hotel residence around Alakia-Isebo Egbeda under Egbeda Local Government Area at the time include one AK-47 Rifle, four AK-47 magazines, 84 live AK-47 Ammunitions, 19 pump action rifles, one Beretta Pistol, Seven Cut-to-size Gun, one English made Barrel Gun.
“Others are 724 live cartridges, 25 cutlasses, Seven Jack knives, 33 mobile phones, one Samsung Laptop, Charms, One Mazda Bus, One Toyota Sienna, Cash sum of N3,450,000.00.
”In furtherance of these, discreet intelligence-led search commenced for the sacked PMS chieftain with the help of technology, collaborative efforts with sister services and community policing, many locations were identified, traced and combed for months until his recent arrest in a concerted effort with our sister services. Moving forward, the suspect would be charged to court for offences committed’’.
