The Oyo State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Michael Adaralewa, has ordered  Area Commanders and Divisional Officers of the Corps to nab  vandals targeting critical infrastructure and facilities.
Adaralewa, who gave the directive during a press briefing at Iyaganku, Ibadan, also called for a statewide crackdown on vandals targeting electrical transformers and other power distribution facilities.
Those who attended the monthly commandant’s briefing included departmental heads,  units, area commanders, sectional heads, unit commanders, and divisional officers.
The NSCDC boss   expressed his concern over  increasing incidents of vandalism targeting power transformers and electricity distribution facilities in some areas of the state.
He  also ordered an increased security presence at places of worship on Fridays, Sundays, and throughout the upcoming holiday season to counter the anticipated rise in criminal activities.
“I am giving a clear order to all Area Commanders and Divisional Officers to pursue vandals of transformers and other power distribution facilities in Oyo State’’, the commandant said.
