Precious Cornerstone University (PCU),Ibadan has kickstarted activities marking its second convocation ceremony.
The week-long 2nd convocation ceremony with theme: “The Envisioned Royalties”.
The Vice Chancellor of the faith-based university, Prof Julius Oloke while addressing a press conference, disclosed that about 100 graduating students who are worthy both in learning and character will be receiving awards of degrees and prizes.
Out of the 100 graduating students,the university produced 10 First-class honour with Salami Mojoolaoluwa Oluwatimileyin of department of Economics emerged as the best graduating student for year 2023 with a CGPA of 5.00.
30 of them had Second Class Upper,48 with second class Lower division while 12 had third class division.
The vice chancellor explained that the graduating students had been trained to stand out in excellence as Royalties in their chosen fields.
The professor explained that the graduating students had been trained to be solution providers and part of that training is to commercialize their areas of specialization, invariably each graduating student has both academic degree and entrepreneurship certification.
The VC also disclosed to journalists that plans are underway to kickstart the postgraduate programme and faculty of applied health which comprises Nursing science, anatomy, physiology among others.
He revealed that the university has signed a collaborative agreement with one of the Turkish Universities to enhance academic qualifications of the precious Cornerstone University.
The event will start with a thanksgiving and anointing service with the Chancellor, Bishop Francis Wale Oke and university community on Sunday November 5, convocation lecture and Vice Chancellor’s dinner with graduating students hold on Friday November 10,2023 while the awards of degrees and prizes will come up on November 11, 2023.
